In the midst of the modern design movement in the 1960s, Warren Platner turned a simple concept into a creative masterpiece--transforming steel wire into a unique and supremely modern sculptural furniture collection--the Platner Tables. This classic table set will surely make quite a statement in your living room, den or office. The set features two different coffee tables and and a side table.

The Design

Designed in 1966, the Platner Table is truly a unique piece. Considered by many to be a design icon of the modern era, the Platner Table's harmonious forms are created by welding curved vertical steel wire rods to circular frames, producing a moiré effect.

Decorative, gentle and graceful, the Platner Coffee Table Set is truly one of a kind. All metal components are finished in bright nickel with a clear lacquer protective coating. Each one of the Platner Tables with a clear glass tabletop is GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certified�.

Coated marble top:

Top made of 3/4"-thick, bevel-edged arabescato coated marble
Coated marble top features transparent polyester coating to help eliminate use-associated stains
Please note that polyester coating will yellow over time

Wood veneer top:

Top made of 1 1/16"-thick veneered medium density fiberboard in light walnut finish
Top features a cathedral grain pattern
Edges are made of 1/4" solid wood to match face veneer
Wood tops are weighted with plates to ensure stability

Base:

Base made of vertical steel wire rods welded to circular horizontal and edge-framing rods
Base is in bright nickel finish with clear lacquer protection
